How I fixed my black screen on start up. Go to C:\\Users\\YOURPC\\Documents\\My Games\\Far Cry 2 and edit the GamerProfile.xml (use notepad) Look for Maximized="1" and change it to Maximized="0". Crashing Fix. Ok so this should fix the game from crashing every 15 mintues to an hour of game time on this game. First Try- Try going to your library on steam and "right-click" on FAR CRY 2 and go to PROPERTIES. Now go and click VALIDATE GAME Files or something like that, and the game should start itself.
