It makes a lot of sense to do it like this in The Lord of the Rings world. 2nd edition gives you some new options from the core rulebook of 1st edition. Some of these are added in 1st edition later but here are your options from the 2nd edition of The One Ring RPG: Bardings . Dwarves of Durin's Folk. Elves of Lindon. Hobbits of the Shire . Men This insert is compatible with War of the Ring: Second Edition, Lords of Middle-Earth and Warriors of Middle-Earth expansions, including the Treebeard mini and the promo cards from Tidings Not Burdens mini-expansion. The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. Many of the trays can be utilised during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times. The board War of the Ring 2nd Ed - Rules Summary / Reference (v3.0) 12/2019 (English, Italian and French) | War of the Ring: Second Edition
1. The rule below has me confused a tad bit. "The Shadow player may now place a number of Action dice in the Hunt Box located on the game board. The Shadow player must place at least one Action die if the Free Peoples player retrieved at least 1 die from the Hunt Box during Phase 1. He may allocate only as many dice as the number of Companions

The War of the Ring started in Rohan when a detachment of Saruman 's troops crossed the Fords of Isen. Warned by good intelligence reports, Théodred, the son of the King, Théoden, secretly mustered his forces and rode with them to the fords in order to launch a surprise attack against the enemy.
Ralf Schemmann. @Uthoroc. Sep 26, 2016. Sauron almost won, with only Gollum's reveal ability saving the Free People's bacon. He was just playing a corruption game, not a military one. The Free were just lucky with that last tile draw. And he did have a VP (Dale) and a minion left (the Mouth of Sauron).
Susan Martin. Yes, I play solo for both sides. One thing that makes that a tiny bit easier is that the die rolls dictate the choices you can and cannot make, so instead of having the whole field of choices, there are a few restrictions. This gives you a little bit of guidance.
Maybe you already know about this, but just in case, there's an excellent discord community and you can find games 24/7 using a java client. Most experienced players can play a whole game in 1-2 hours, and fast players can complete a game in under an hour.
An impressively sized war game, War of the Ring pits 2 players (or 4) against each other in a battle for Middle Earth comprised of all the favourite races and characters you love from the original trilogy. So, grab your Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves and Men. And an ungodly amount of Goblins. It’s time for War!

Ian Madsen. @Arcadious. The 3-4 player game involves team play. Players win as a team, but there are rules for determining an individual winner inside the winning team. The rules for 3-4 players still balances well, but the game does take longer as actions have to be used inefficiently.

War of the Ring Ultimate Rework is a fan-made version of War of the Ring that enhances the game in many ways. I am a game designer and a fan of War of the Ring. That's why I spent a lot of time with my friends designing and testing my own version of the game. War of the Ring Ultimate Rework is aiming to be the ultimate Lord of the Rings board Sorry for the long winded post, but had some thoughts I wanted to get out there. Recently tried the War of the Ring expansions and had some gripes I was wondering if anyone else shares. Would also be curious to hear any other opinions on the expansions or peoples preferred ways to play War of the Ring.
We chose to play it because it looked like it would be a little quicker than the normal game, basically it starts at a point that you might arrive at after playing about 40% of a normal game. I thought it would be a good way to introduce new players to the game. The FP starts at 3 corruption.

I used the Easterling/Southerling Mounted minis as Leaders for the Second Edition as I believe that Nazgul would be more focused on the Hunt for the Ring than generaling an army. They are purchased at the same rate as other leaders.
To me it should have been part of base game. Warriors and anything else (so far) are debatable, but Lords not only complement the base game, it improves very well and different from "cosmetical" stuff or Warrior of M.E., I usually take much (maybe 80%) of the Lords of M.E. content in every game. Elrond, Galadriel, Gandalf and all Shadow units

Main advice for the project: -Have a really good scissors, like fabric scissors (that has been oiled). If it has smooth range of motion but isn't super loose you can get really nice circles by hand. -Before peeling off the stickers, use a black sharpie marker to color the edge of the sticker (on the sides).
